Join Us - Every Thursday from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM!

Up and Knitting!

A grandparent, three parents and two teachers have joined the Parklawn Community Knitters for the past two Thursdays.  We have a mix of experienced knitters getting back into the knitting groove and brand new knitters who are catching on quickly.  We welcome new knitters.  Please join us!

Can't Wait!

We'll be meeting this coming Thursday, December 11 in room 150 (Mrs. Diaz's room) from 4:00-5:00 pm.  If you can't make it every week, that's okay.  If you can't make the full hour, that's okay too.  The point is to relax, connect, and create together.  Leave your stress in the parking lot!  We'll continue to meet each Thursday.

The Chim Chim Seal of Approval

Mrs. Diaz's cat, Chim Chim, may not want to give up this soft yellow blanket!  Thanks to former Parklawn teacher, Elizabeth King D'Cruz, for her generous donation of yarn.  We will put it all to good use!

Calling All Parents and Staff Members

A few staff members met this summer to get this project underway.  We are very excited to see where we go with it!  Please keep in touch via this blog.  Once school starts and schedules have been firmed up, we will determine a day and time to meet each week.  Most likely, we will meet after school.  If you do not know how to knit, but always wanted to learn, this is your chance!  If you are an experienced knitter, this is a great opportunity to build community with other Parklawn parents and teachers while you put your skills to work towards a good cause.  Hope to see you soon!

More on the Way

The third blanket is on the way.  Each stitch is a hope and dream for the recipient child and his/her family.  This is a great way to build connections and build our future.
